Gettysburg Experience books

Editors Letter

February is always a month to enjoy, provided that a certain Pennsylvania groundhog doesn't see his shadow. We at The Gettysburg Experience are happy to bring you, in this shortest of months, enough interesting articles, delicious recipes, and our updated Calendar of Events to tide you over until the promise of spring -- which is just around the corner!

One of our favorite places to visit in Gettysburg is the pastoral Sachs Bridge, located just a short distance from the Eisenhower National Historic Site. Whether covered with snow or surrounded by leafy boughs, this place is always worth a visit. Learn all about it in "Gettysburg's Historic Bridge."

Our graphic designer, Lacey, who is getting married this year, suggested that for Valentine's Day and Presidents' Day I should write an article about how all our Presidents and First Ladies met. It was quite a job, but a very interesting one! Read the results in "Presidential Couples." February also marks the anniversary of the birth of one of the Union's most amazing generals. His subordinates admired him, his superiors loved him, and the Confederates felt an affection for him. It is an interesting coincidence that he was actually born on Valentine's Day. Read "Born To Be A Soldier."

An Advertiser's Directory can be found on our site to help you locate any advertisement. We shop at their businesses ourselves, and highly recommend them. We receive no other funding for our publication, so without them this magazine would not be possible.

Thank you for choosing The Gettysburg Experience, proud to part of historic Gettysburg since 1997.

Sincerely,
Diana Loski, Editor
